Marysville man was stabbed to death

The Associated Press

MARYSVILLE — An autopsy showed the 82-year-old man found dead in his travel trailer at a Marysville mobile home park was stabbed to death.

The Snohomish County medical examiner’s office says Arthur W. Schroeder died of multiple stab wounds.

Police say his body was found early Friday by a grandson. The trailer had been ransacked and Schroeder’s pickup truck was missing. It was found Friday night, burned out in a rural area north of Arlington.

Cmdr. Robb Lamoureux told The Daily Herald investigators have no motive or suspect in the slaying.

Schroeder was a registered sex offender who spent 18 years in prison for multiple counts of rapes in the 1980s. His victims included girls 8 to 14.
