Man fatally struck by 2 vehicles in Seattle’s South Park
UPDATE: 8:00 a.m. | Tuesday: The King County Medical Examiner’s Office reports that the fatally injured pedestrian is a 38-year-old man. His name was still being withheld pending notification of relatives.
Original post: A pedestrian was fatally struck by two vehicles in Seattle’s South Park neighborhood late Monday night, according to the Seattle Police Department.
Police are still investigating why the pedestrian was in the street near the intersection of 10th Avenue South and South Cloverdale Street around 9:30 p.m., said spokeswoman Renee Witt.
A 911 caller said the pedestrian–for whom fire and police officials have not released a description for yet– at first was moving but then struggled to keep on breathing, according to Seattle Fire Department spokesman Kyle Moore. When medics arrived, the person had already died, he said.
Seattle police will continue investigating whether the pedestrian entered the street deliberately, accidentally or was pushed, Witt said.
