Police arrest man in Belltown stabbing
Seattle Police Monday evening arrested a 46-year-old man in connection with a stabbing in Belltown about 5 p.m.
The victim, stabbed in the abdomen near Second and Blanchard, was treated by Fire Department medics and taken to Harborview Medical Center with a non-life-threatening injury.
Seattle Police Detective Mark Jamieson said officers responded to reports of a fight between two men, one of whom had a knife.
When officers arrived, they found a man in an alley with a stab wound to his abdomen. Officer found the suspect a short distance away.
Neither the victim nor the suspect was cooperative with officers, Jamieson said. Police found a knife with blood on it in the parking lot where the suspect was found.
Witnesses told police the incident started as a fight between the two men, possibly about drugs, and then one pulled a knife.
The suspect was also taken to the hospital for treatment of an injured ankle, and was later booked into the King County Jail for investigation of assault.
