Robber may be targeting Subways, coffee shops in the area
Police are investigating whether the same man is behind robberies and attempted robberies at Subway restaurants and coffee stands in Shoreline, Bothell and Lake Forest Park.
At about 2:25 p.m. Saturday a man walked up to the drive-through window at BigFoot Java coffee stand, 18115 Bothell Way NE, in Bothell and asked the cashier to hand over her money. She said no, and he ran off with no money, Bothell Police Sgt. Dan Christman said.
The suspect was wearing a hooded sweatshirt and had a bandana covering his nose and mouth. At the time, the cashier believed the robber was armed, Christman said, but police are still investigating whether or not he had a gun.
Earlier in the day, Subway restaurants in Shoreline and Lake Forest Park were also robbed. The masked suspect got away with money in both of those cases.
Police are investigating whether the cases are connected, said King County Sheriff’s spokeswoman Sgt. Cindi West.
