The Associated Press
TACOMA — A Washington State Patrol trooper arrested Tacoma City Councilman Ryan Mello Sunday night during a drunken driving stop.
Trooper Guy Gill says Mello was pulled over for lane violations and voluntarily submitted to field sobriety tests after the trooper smelled alcohol.
Gill told KING Mello cooperated through the process and did not identify himself as a councilman.
The Pierce County prosecutor’s office will decide whether to file a charge.
