Unlawful New Year’s Eve celebration lands 2 men in King County Jail
Here’s how not to celebrate the new year.
Seattle police arrested two men on New Year’s Eve after they were spotted drinking, driving and shooting fireworks out of their car.
Police were alerted to the pair at about 11:30 p.m. Monday by a witness who directed officers to their Toyota Camry.
Police spotted the Camry in a parking lot near First Avenue and Blanchard Street and pulled up behind the car just as the passenger shot a lit firework out of the car into the parking lot.
When the officers flashed their lights at the men, one of the men stepped out of the Camry with a bottle of alcohol in his hand, police said. Officers looked inside the car and saw dozens of fireworks on the floor.
Both men were booked into the King County Jail for investigation of reckless endangerment.
