A Lake Stevens woman could face assault charges for allegedly shooting her neighbor in the leg because she believed he and his friends were targeting her place with some of the fireworks they were shooting off.
The 54-year-old woman had confronted the 24-year-old victim and his friends more that once last night about the fireworks they were discharging, including her concern that some might be aimed at her property, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s office.
Sheriff’s deputies were called out on a report of gunfire to a residence in the 6400 block of 120th Drive Northeast in Lake Stevens around midnight Tuesday and found the young man with a bullet wound to his thigh. He was taken to a nearby hospital. His injuries don’t appear to be life-threatening.
