Female inmate dies at King County Jail

A female inmate at the King County Jail in Seattle died last night, according to the King County Department of Adult and Juvenile Detention.

The 32-year old Seattle woman was found unresponsive by jail staff during a head count at 6:54 am.  Officers immediately called Jail Health staff as well as 911. Jail Health staff responded, but the woman was pronounced dead at 6:56 am.

The woman had been booked into the jail on multiple misdemeanor charges on Jan. 25.

A determination on the cause and manner of the woman’s death is pending from the King County Medical Examiner’s Office.
