Man attempts to abduct Everett High School student

Everett police are looking for a man who attempted to abduct a girl this morning while she was walking to school.

The Everett High School student was walking near the 2300 block of Wetmore Avenue just after 8 a.m. when a man pulled up next to her in a car and asked if she wanted a ride, according to police. The girl said, “No thanks” and continued walking, police said.

A few seconds later the girl felt someone grab her arm and saw that it was the same man pulling her towards his car.  The girl pulled free and ran to school, where she reported the incident.

Officers searched the area but the man and his car were gone, police said.

The man was described as black, in his 20s, about 6 feet tall and heavyset. He had a mustache, curly brown hair and wore a plaid shirt, police said. He was driving an older tan sedan.
