Man shot in chest at South Seattle grocery store parking lot

Seattle police say a man was shot in the chest in the parking lot of a South Seattle Safeway around 6 p.m. today.
Gunfire was reported on the 9200 block of Rainier Avenue South before medics found the man, according to the Seattle Police Department. Scanner traffic says the man is in his mid-20s and that the shot did not hit any of his vital organs.
Police said witnesses saw a group of men arguing near the southeast corner of the parking lot before one of the men fired a gun.
Police have closed Rainier Avenue South in both directions near the shooting scene. Scanner traffic said that area was between 53rd Avenue South and 56th Avenue South.
Officers scoured the area for a suspect but he is still at large, according to the SPD blotter.
