Suspects caught after police chase

A felony suspect led Lynnwood police on a chase from Highway 99 to Interstate 405 Friday night, and was later arrested in Renton after a helicopter saw him and two passengers abandon his pickup.

Police said the chase began at 8:45 p.m. when the man fled as special-operations officers tried to arrest him on a felony warrant in the 15600 block of Highway 99.

The man, driving a Dodge Dakota, made his way to Interstate 405. The pursuing police cars backed off as the King County sheriff’s Guardian One helicopter spotted the truck and followed it.

Officers in the helicopter saw the truck pull onto a dead-end street in Renton and saw the driver and passengers abandon it and flee to a fast-food restaurant, where they were arrested.

The driver, who had two felony warrants and other warrants, was also booked around 9:15 on suspicion of eluding police and possessing a controlled substance. A male passenger, a convicted felon, was arrested on a felony warrant, and a female passenger was arrested on a warrant.

The Washington State Patrol and Renton police assisted in apprehending the suspects.
