Teen stabbed to death in Bellingham identified
The 17-year-old boy who died Saturday after a double stabbing at a party in Bellingham has been identified as Davonte R. Thompson.
Bellingham police say the Thompson and an injured 18-year-old man were dropped off at a hospital early Saturday. Police learned from witnesses about a suspect and his possible whereabouts.
Police then went to a residence where a party had taken place the night before. When officers were questioning two residents, the suspect walked into the house covered in mud and apparent blood. He took off running, but was subdued shortly thereafter.
Police say Thompson died of his injuries while the 18-year-old was treated and released.
Officers arrested 21-year-old Geoff K. Spain for investigation of second-degree murder and first-degree assault.
