Two dogs die in South Seattle house fire
A house fire Sunday in the 3800 block of Mead Street in the Beacon Hill blew out the front door and engulfed a two-story house in flames, killing two dogs, Seattle fire officials said.
No one else was injured.
Authorities said the owners were renovating the house and left staining rags near the front entrance. The rags likely heated up and combusted, fire officials said.
The fire started before 7 p.m with flames shooting out the front door and spreading to the second floor, where the two dogs were found. Estimated damage was $45,000.
