Women escape attempted carjacking in South Seattle
Two men tried to carjack a pair of women stopped at a red light in South Seattle by assaulting them with pepper spray Tuesday night, according to Seattle police.
At about 6:20 p.m., two women in their 50s were stopped at the intersection of Martin Luther King Junior Way South and South Graham Street when the men approached and pepper-sprayed them, according to the Seattle Police Department blotter.
After the driver ran the red light to escape the attack, the suspects ran off westbound on South Graham Street, the blotter item said. The victims called police from a nearby convenience store and were treated at the scene for pepper-spray exposure.
