Girl, 14, fights off attacker last night in South Seattle
Seattle police say a 14-year-old girl fought off a man who tried to pull her to the ground last night in South Seattle.
The attack happened just before 9 p.m. after the girl got off the No. 7 Metro bus at Rainier Avenue South and South Andover Street. As the girl reached 34th Avenue South and South Oregon Street an unknown man came up from behind her and grabbed her around the neck with both arms, police said.
The girl kicked the man in the groin and was then able to escape and run home.
Patrol officers and a K-9 unit arrived in the area and searched unsuccessfully for a suspect.
The girl was treated by medics for minor injuries to her throat, police said.
