Man seriously hurt in Gas Works Park fall

A 19-year-old man suffered what police are calling life-threatening injuries early today after falling from a piece of fenced-off equipment at Gas Works Park.

Seattle Police say the man and a friend had scaled the fence to climb atop the structure inside the park.

The victim fell about 5:20 a.m. while moving along a walkway about 30 feet off the ground, police said. He fell through a gap in the grating to the ground below.

The man’s friend called 911.  Seattle Fire Department medics administered CPR and took the injured man to Harborview Medical Center.
