Seattle Prep wins YMCA High School Mock Trial for King County

Seattle Preparatory School’s team won King County’s 24th annual YMCA High School Mock Trial Competition Monday night, and will be heading to the state’s mock trial championship in Olympia later this month.

The team’s three prosecution lawyers and four witnesses beat out University Prep’s defense team in a mock trial based on a domestic-terrorism plot.

Seattle Prep’s county competition team winners include: Molly McCarthy, David Mallick, Molly Miller, Michael Goodwin, Chase Robinett, Casey Schmidt and Shannon McRae.

Superior Court Judge William Downing said teams from University Prep, Franklin High School, Seattle Academy and International Community School will also go to the state mock trial championships.
