Seattle police negotiators were able to get a woman out of a possible hostage situation at a North Seattle hotel around 5 p.m. today. Police then took her into custody.
The woman is the reason for the standoff. A Seattle patrol officer went to the hotel about 1 p.m. today after receiving a tip that she was staying there. There was a warrant for her arrest. But when the officer arrived, he learned that a bank-robbery suspect was also at the hotel.
The man told police he was holding the woman hostage, and the floor where the man was staying was evacuated and a SWAT unit and negotiators were brought in.
