The city of Burien says no one wants the skull of a fin whale that washed up on its Puget Sound beach, so it’s making plans to have the carcass removed.
The maintenance and operations supervisor for Burien Parks, Myron Clinton, says the beach will be posted Monday to try to keep crowds of people from touching and climbing on the whale.
Clinton says he’s still making plans but expects removal to cost tens of thousands of dollars.
Marine experts say the whale was hit and killed by a ship and carried into Puget Sound on the bow. The carcass washed up Saturday at Seahurst Park.
