LYNNWOOD (AP) The Snohomish County medical examiner’s office says a pellet fired from a powerful air rifle killed a man near Lynnwood.
The Daily Herald reports that Sunday’s death of 52-year-old Dean Urness of Edmonds has been ruled a homicide.
Sheriff’s officers believe the shooter was a 32-year-old Lynnwood-area woman. She was being held on $250,000 bail for investigation of second-degree murder.
The newspaper says a number of people apparently were involved in an altercation outside the woman’s home before Urness was shot about 1:30 a.m. Sunday.
State Health Department spokesman Donn Moyer says his agency’s data show only one reported death from a pellet gun in Washington between 2007 and 2011.
