Police searching for tattooed suspect in Burien shooting
Burien police are searching for an armed suspect who allegedly shot the 18-year-old brother of his ex-girlfriend Thursday afternoon.
A warrant for first-degree assault has been issued for Linley Valdez, 26, who the King County Sheriff’s Office believes shot his victim around 5:15 p.m. in in the 15600 block of Fourth Avenue South in Burien. The victim was taken to Harborview Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the stomach, and was able to leave the hospital later that evening.
The 18-year-old told detectives he had arranged to meet Valdez for a deal involving electronics, but the suspect then pulled a gun out on him.
Valdez is described as a Hispanic and Asian male, 5-foot-10, about 165 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He has tattoos on the right side of his neck and a cross tattooed on his right upper arm. The Sheriff’s Office said he also is a skilled martial artist.
Sgt. Cindi West said Valdez is homeless and could be roaming several neighborhoods in the Seattle area.
Detectives ask anyone with information about Valdez to call the King County Sheriff’s Office at 206-296-3311 or 911.
