Section of Burke-Gilman Trail closed by slide

A section of The Burke-Gilman Trail was closed today by a mudslide near Lake City.

Seattle Parks and Recreation closed the trail at around Northeast 117th  Street and Riviera Place Northeast and put up detour signs.

It’s unclear how long that section will be closed because park officials can’t get  “a crew safely into the site to clear it because of the danger of continuing slides from above,” officials said in a released statement.
