Sunday memo: Amber alert . . . Fight over coal . . . Mariners win

1-year-old taken: An Amber Alert has been issued for a 1-year-old Kalispell, Mont., boy who authorities say has been taken by his non-custodial parents. Brayden Blasius is believed to be in danger, with the alert stating that the suspects, Beau Blasius, 28, and Bryndi Gibson, 23, are believed to be under the influence of drugs. Authorities believe the couple may be headed to Washington State in a 2002 Blue Ford Focus that has a Washington license plate of AIH3659. Anyone with information about the suspects’ whereabouts is asked to call the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office at (406) 758.5610, or 911.

Coal clash: More and more coal is being dug in Wyoming and Montana, shipped by train to Pacific Coast ports and then by ship weather-428to Asia — and it’s causing controversy every step of the way.

Mariners win: Who said they were struggling? They won last night with Felix Hernandez holding the Los Angeles Angels to just two runs — one earned — through eight innings and batters generating enough offense to win 3-2. The two teams meet again today at Safeco Field at 1:10 p.m.

Bring a raincoat: Drizzle is a sure bet today. Highs near 60. Be patient with this week’s clouds because there’s an 80-degree day forecast for next weekend.
