All lanes open on Aurora Avenue after water main break
UPDATE 5:50 P.M. | WSDOT says all lanes have been reopened.
A water main broke on Aurora Avenue near Prospect Street Tuesday afternoon, closing two northbound lanes just in time for rush hour.
Seattle Public Utility crews initially thought the break would only close one lane and that it should re-open to traffic by 6 p.m. But around 4 p.m. they announced two lanes have been closed, and didn’t say how long they might stay that way.
The Washington State Department of Transportation is advising drivers to use alternate routes in the meantime.
