We’re smart, but are we nerds? Seattle ranked 3rd nerdiest in U.S.

In 2011, the dating site Match.com ranked the Top 10 cities to find a nerd, and Seattle didn’t make the cut.

But a lot can change in a couple years.

According to a new ranking by the real-estate blog Movoto.com, Seattle is the third nerdiest city in the nation.  Movoto compiled data on nine nerd-centric categories, including proximity to Renaissance fairs and video-game stores per capita.

While Seattle didn’t win any of the categories, we ranked second for the number of bookstores per capita (are bookstores nerdy?) and we came in third for the number of annual conventions devoted to comic books, video game, anime, and sci-fi/fantasy.

After all the scores were tallied up, Atlanta came out on top, and Portland beat us for the No. 2 spot.

As with all these rankings, keep that grain of salt handy.
