The woman injured in a fire in a mobile-home in Maple Valley early today has died.

The woman and her husband were sleeping in the mobile home in the 18000 block of 196th Avenue Southeast when fire broke out around 3:30 a.m., according to fire department spokesman Captain Kyle Ohashi.

The husband, thinking his wife was behind him, broke out a window and escaped the fire. His wife did not make it out. Firefighters found her unconscious and in the home. Medics were able to resuscitate her and she was taken to the hospital where she died.

The man was taken to the hospital to be examined, Ohashi said.

The man reportedly triggered his car alarm to get neighbors’ attention.

The identities of the couple were not released.
