DUI driver hits patrol car, police say

A suspected drunk driver crashed into a Seattle police cruiser early Sunday morning in Ballard.

A patrol officer was driving north on 3rd Avenue Northwest at about 3 a.m. when a female driver cut across the street in the 6700 block, going west, and hit the marked cruiser.

The driver fled and was found and taken into custody at 15th Avenue Northwest and NW Market Street. She was processed for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Neither the officer nor hit-and-run driver were injured or identified by police.
