Federal Way-based World Vision sending emergency supplies to tornado-ravaged towns

World Vision, the humanitarian group better known for assistance in far corners of the globe, is sending emergency supplies to tornado-ravaged Oklahoma.

The Federal Way-based group will be shipping hygiene kits, blankets, cleaning supplies and emergency food and cooking kits from a warehouse near Dallas, said spokeswoman Amy Parodi. One truck is already loaded, she said.

Assessment teams will head out tomorrow to determine what supplies are needed where, Parodi said. “We’ll figure how best to distribute things.”
