Police ask public help in Kent shooting

UPDATE 1 p.m. |  Kent police are asking the public’s assistance in the investigation of the fatal shooting of a 32-year-old Kent man shortly before  5 a.m. today.

Kent Police spokeswoman Det. Melanie Frazier said officers went to the man’s home after reports of a man being shot in the 21000 block of 131st Avenue Southeast.

When officers arrived, the victim was on the ground outside the home, shot in the torso but still conscious and breathing. Efforts by medics to stabilize him, however, were unsuccessful and he was  pronounced dead at the scene

No one else was injured.

Kent police do not have enough information about a possible suspect to release at this point, Frazier said.  Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call 9-1-1 or the Kent Police Department tip line at 253-856-5808.
