Man arrested for pointing gun at passing cars in Lynnwood

UPDATE AT 1:19 P.M. SATURDAY: Shannon Sessions, Lynnwood police public information officer, says a handgun was not found.

ORIGINAL POST: Lynnwood police have arrested a 29-year-old man after he was spotted pointing what appeared to be a gun at passing vehicles near an Interstate 5 onramp.

Police and the Washington State Patrol received several 911 calls just after 2 p.m. reporting a man who was pointing a gun at cars near the 44th Avenue West onramp, police said. Officers found and apprehended the man under a freeway overpass, police said.

The man has been booked into the Lynnwood Jail for investigation of unlawful display of a weapon.
