Man walking on tracks dies after being struck by train in Everett

An Amtrak train struck and killed a young man in Everett on Tuesday night, according to police.

The incident took place at about 7:45 p.m. in the 1700 block of W. Mukilteo Boulevard, just west of Harborview Park, said Everett police spokesman Aaron Snell. The victim was one of three men walking on the tracks as the train approached from the south, Snell said.

Two of the men got out of the way, but the third got knocked into the waters of Possession Sound, Snell said.

Police recovered his body roughly an hour later. The man’s identity has not been released.
