Sunday memo: Wet weather . . . low tides . . . more music

Days of rain: Hope you got out in the sunny weather on Saturday because you won’t being seeing the sunshine again until Thursday, according to the weather forecast. The wettest day of the week could be Monday, Memorial Day, when the nation pauses to honor its war dead.

Brave the rain: Low tides for the next couple of days offer great opportunities for exploring the tide pools of Elliott Bay. There’s a -3.6 tide at 12:23 today and a -3.4 at 1:11 on Monday. The Seattle Aquarium started a summer long beach naturalist program this  weekend. Volunteer naturalists are on beaches all day all over Puget Sound to help people enjoy the sea life that comes with summer low tides.  Here is the schedule of walks.

The bands play on: The Northwest Folklife Festival at the Seattle Center and the Sasquatch! Festival at the Gorge continue through Monday. Check out The Seattle Times Soundposts blog for what’s up at both festivals.
