Thursday Memo: Get robber, get pizzas … Renton shooting victim dies

Catch a robber, get a pizza: Actually 200 pizzas go to the person who helps track down the robber who held up a pizza restaurant in Spokane yesterday. Mama mia that’s a lot of pies.

UPDATE: 12 p.m. | Young woman shot in Renton park has died: It stemmed from a fight between two groups in Liberty Park. People on both sides pulled out guns and began firing, leaving the 20-year-old woman, who reportedly just moved to the area, critically injured. She died late this morning.

King County deputy injured in motorcycle crash dies. Deputy Martin Duran, just 47, was off-duty when he was involved in a crash and injured on Monday. He died last night. Police are investigating the accident.

The sinking, stinking Mariners lost their sixth straight game yesterday, 7-1, against the Angels. Yikes. As our story asks today, are changes ahead?

J.P. Patches street naming celebration: It’s scheduled for June 1 in Seattle’s Fremont neighborhood to mark the honorary naming of a portion of North 34th Street for Seattle’s legendary TV personality. Our news partner KING5 has the story.

Is it still raining out there? Memorial Day weekend weather doesn’t look good either. Between now and Monday, we’re talking a chance of showers everyday. Oh, quit complaining. This is Seattle.
