BELLINGHAM – Some nude bicycle riders will be taking off Friday afternoon for Bellingham’s annual Naked Bike Ride.
Organizers tell The Bellingham Herald 50 to 75 riders take part each year and about a dozen are at least partly unclothed.
Organizer Zoie Gaido says it’s fun for most people and well-received. The idea is to promote a bicycle friendly culture and oppose fossil fuels.
Three police officers on bikes plan to accompany the ride, fully clothed.
