An early Monday morning fire that caused $100,000 damage to a house in Seattle’s South Beacon Hill neighborhood was intentionally set, according to the Seattle Fire Department.
Firefighters responded to a 911 call reporting a fire in the 3900 block of South Cloverdale Street around 3:05 a.m. When they arrived, all four occupants of the house had evacuated, and flames were shooting from the second story. It took firefighters 28 minutes to extinguish the flames.
The fire caused additional $40,000 damage to the contents of the home and $2,000 damage to a neighboring house. No injuries were reported.
The Seattle Police Department’s arson and bomb squad is investigating, according to the fire department.
