Officials arrest 64-year-old man after shooting injures one in Snohomish

Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested a 64-year-old man after a Friday evening shooting in Snohomish that seriously injured a 48-year-old man, officials said.

Four other people were also detained and released in connection to the incident, which may have started as a burglary attempt, said Shari Ireton, a Sheriff’s Office spokesman.

The shooting occurred in the 300 block of South Carpenter Road at around 5:30 p.m., Ireton said.

Officials responding to the initial report of a possible home burglary found the victim with a gunshot wound in his leg. He told deputies that the suspect was driving a white Dodge truck.

The victim was transported to a nearby hospital.

The suspect, arrested later, was expected to be charged with 1st-degree assault.
