Pedestrian hit by pickup in northeast Seattle
A pedestrian is in critical condition after being struck by a pickup this morning in northeast Seattle.
The accident happened around 10:39 a.m. near Northeast 75th Street and 35th Avenue Northeast, according to the Seattle Fire Department. The victim, a man in his 20s, was taken to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition.
Witnesses say the victim had just gotten off a bus and was attempting to cross 35th Avenue Northeast when he was struck by a silver Chevrolet pickup.
The driver of the pickup was evaluated at the scene by a Drug Recognition Expert officer, who found no obvious signs of impairment.
