Rain slows traffic: 81 minutes from Federal Way to Bellevue

Rain slowed the morning commute around the Seattle area, particularly in the south end.

At 7:30 .m., traffic was taking 81 minutes to get from Federal Way to Bellevue on Interstates 5 and 405, normally a 45-minute drive in the morning commute, said Mike Allende of the state Transportation Department.

Traffic from Federal Way to Seattle on Interstate 5 was taking 61 minutes, about 15 minutes slower than normal.

Traffic from Everett to Seattle was taking 60 minutes, about 15 minutes longer than usual.

Allende said no major accidents were reported. “It hasn’t rained for a few days and it’s a Monday morning and people are just kind of taking it slow,” he said.
