If your image of a politician is an older guy with a pot belly, wrinkled suit and a sour face, stop right there.

Forty-fourth District Republican Mike Hope, the state representative from Lake Stevens, is ripped.

Hope, who’s also a Seattle police officer and an aspiring actor, spends up to 40 minutes a day in the gym; and there’s little doubt he does. One look at the photos Hope recently posted to the Internet Movie Database (IMDb) is really all the investigation that’s necessary.

In the photos, a shirtless and chiseled Hope can be seen flexing his six-pack abs and rock-hard pecs.

Hope says he posted the photos to the popular site in hopes of landing some acting work.

Hope said his physique is all natural, and he credits regular cardio workouts and strict attention to nutrition for his success.
