Tacoma removes unofficial crosswalks

TACOMA (AP) — Someone took it upon themselves to paint crosswalks at four intersections last week in Tacoma.

City officials say it’s the second time in a month the crosswalk vigilantes have struck in the middle of the night.

Public Works Director Kurtis Kingsolver says the painting is illegal, like graffiti.

KOMO reports workers have cleaned up each location at a cost of about $1,000 at each intersection.
