Woman’s death in Lake Stevens prompts homicide investigation
The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office has launched a homicide investigation after a young woman was found dead Monday in West Lake Stevens, according to Lt. Jeff Brand of the Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to a home in the 9200 block of 15th Street Southeast just after 9 a.m. after receiving a 911 call. A woman in her 20s was found dead at the home, apparently from “homicidal violence,” Brand said.
After finding her body, deputies left the home and are now waiting for a search warrant.
Brand said the Sheriff’s Office is confident the death is not related to the Molly Conley case. Conley, a 15-year-old Bishop Blanchet High School freshman, was killed in a drive-by shooting as she and friends walked along a Lake Stevens road June 1.
