Broadway buses detouring around Macklemore video shoot

King County Metro bus routes 49 and 60 will detour on Capitol Hill to avoid what is apparently a Macklemore video shoot tonight near the Broadway Dick’s Drive-in.

A Metro service advisory announced an “event reroute,” from 8-11 p.m., saying the street would be closed, though a Metro spokesman did not confirm the Macklemore shoot.  The Seattle rap star and Ryan Lewis have a best-selling CD, “The Heist,” and have sold out two of three December shows at KeyArena.  Their song “Can’t Hold Us” includes the line, “My posse’s on Broadway,” a reference to a hit by Seattle rapper Sir Mix-a-Lot.

A Seattle Times post about the Macklemore event can be found here.

Buses will be using 12th Avenue to avoid Broadway between East John Street and East Pine Street, and miss a few Broadway stops.
