Girl, 14, dies after Quilcene crash
The Associated Press
PORT ANGELES — A 14-year-old girl who was pinned under a pickup after it crashed Sunday on a forest road near Quilcene has died.
Harborview Medical Center in Seattle told the Peninsula Daily News that Ruby-Jean Murray of Brinnon died Tuesday of her injuries.
The Jefferson County sheriff’s office says she was riding in the bed of the pickup with two others as the 18-year-old driver reversed at high speed. The truck overturned in a ditch. The two other passengers were thrown clear but Murray was pinned underneath for nearly half an hour.
