Lake Forest Park police: Man kidnapped, held for 24 hours
A man from Blaine told police he had a seizure driving home from Seattle, left the stream of traffic and awoke to find he’d been kidnapped.
He said he was held against his will for more than 24 hours before being found by police Sunday morning, according to the Lake Forest Park Police Department.
At 7:30 a.m. Sunday, officers responded to a call for help in the 17400 block of Brookside Boulevard Northeast and found a man who said he had been held in a residence in the area by people he didn’t know.
Officers did a security sweep of the residence and found no suspects but did find a suspicious device. The King County Sheriff’s Department bomb-disposal unit responded and classified the device safe.
Further investigation found that the man’s vehicle and other belongings had been stolen. A suspect was found in Seattle with the vehicle and taken into custody. Other suspects were found and booked into the King County jail on investigation of kidnapping and unlawful imprisonment. On Monday, a judge set bail at $300,000 for each of them.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Tony Matthews of the Lake Forest Park Police Department at 206-364-8216.
