Man fatally stabbed in Renton on Saturday identified

The 22-year-old man fatally stabbed Saturday in Renton has been identified as Jordan Allan Cruz, according to the King County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Renton police said Cruz and his brothers confronted a 16-year-old after the teen attempted to break into the Cruz’s brother’s parked car in the 200 block of Southwest Fifth Place. A fight ensued and the teen stabbed Cruz, who later died in surgery at Harborview Medical Center, police said.

Officers arrested the 16-year-old and recovered what they believe to be the murder weapon.

Cruz attended Renton High School and graduated from Sartori Alternative School, according to his obituary, which says he enjoyed “working on his car, being with his family and friends and being goofy.”
