The man found dead after firefighters responded to a blaze in his Graham house on Wednesday died from stab wounds, according to the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office, which is classifying the death as a homicide.
Douglas Erhardt, 55, was found dead while firefighters were extinguishing a fire at his house in the 19300 block of 89th Avenue East around 6:30 a.m. The fire and death were immediately labeled suspicious, said Steve Richards, assistant chief of Graham Fire and Rescue.
The origin of the fire is unknown, but it looks like it may have started in multiple places.
