Monday Memo: Alaska crash … Neighborly justice … Flip-flop poll

A different crash kills 10: An air taxi carrying 10 people, including the pilot, crashed Sunday southwest of Anchorage, killing everyone on board.

Kids and their crime spree:
They were spared the consequences of the criminal justice system by a victim who, some would say, did the right thing. It’s a good read by Times staff reporter Christine Clarridge. Victim makes teen car prowlers face up to crimes

Two more drownings this summer season: A 3-year-0ld girl drowned in a pool in Pasco, Tri-Cities, and a Spokane boy drowned in a lake near Coeur d’Alene.

Well, ain’t that something: The Mariners won their  series against the Cincinnati Reds. Let’s say that again. The M’s won their series against the Reds.

Going to clear up: These morning clouds will go away and we’ll have some sun and 75 degrees today. And, it is expected to be sunny tomorrow and Wednesday with highs in the mid to upper 70s. They call that summer and flip-flop weather. Speaking of flip-flops, Slate has an essay by Dana Stevens that takes issue with flip-flops. The words unsightly, unhygienic and unfit for public display tell you most of what you need to know. … Do you have any issues with flip-flops? Vote in our poll.
