Nude U District intruder just wanted to ‘crash’

A naked man climbed through a U District window early this morning reportedly looking for a place to sleep, according Seattle police.

When residents said no way, the man climbed back out. A short time later, police found the man and arrested him.

Seattle Police officers responded to the 5000 block of 8th Avenue Northeast just after 1 a.m. when residents reported that a naked man had climbed through their first floor window. The residents told police that the man asked for a woman who didn’t live there, and asked if he could “crash” there.

When the residents said no, they didn’t want the naked intruder to sleep over, he climbed back out the window and fled.

Police found the man four blocks away – after he put pants on – riding a bicycle. After a short chase, an SPD K-9 team tracked the man down and found him hiding on the roof of another house. A Seattle Fire Department ladder truck was brought in to help retrieve the man.

The under-dressed interloper was taken to the hospital for a drug evaluation and will be booked into jail once the hospital releases him.
