One killed, 5 hurt in rollover accident near Stanwood

One person is dead and five others  injured at noon Sunday in a rollover crash near Pioneer Highway and Norman Road, south of Stanwood, said Lt. Jeff Brand of the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.

Of the five injured, two were “code red,” he said, meaning “in bad condition,” and three were “code yellow, which means not as bad.”

Brand said the vehicle, reportedly a Chevrolet, was traveling west on Pioneer Highway when it left the roadway.

He said one person was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center and the others taken to area hospitals.

Brand said no other details were available, and that roads at that intersection will be closed for an undetermined amount of time while the investigation continues.
