Renton man fatally stabbed; Seattle teen held

A 22-year-old man was fatally stabbed in Renton about 1 a.m. Saturday, and a 16-year-old Seattle youth believed to have been his attacker has been arrested.

Renton police said the victim and his brothers confronted the Seattle teen, after the teen attempted to break into a parked car belonging to the victim’s brother in the 200 block of Southwest Fifth Place.

A fight ensued in which the Seattle teen stabbed the Renton man, police said.

The victim suffered two stab wounds to his torso. He was transported to Harborview Medical Center, where he died in surgery.

Police arrested the 16-year-old and one of his companions; officers say they have recovered what they believe to be the murder weapon.

Police say they are not looking for any other suspects, and no related danger to the public is anticipated.
